What We Believe

Here are some of our basic beliefs (in condensed form):

      1. All Power in the Church belongs to our Lord Jesus Christ.  All actions are to be carried out under his rule and authority.
      2. We confess that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, and the Gospel is the power of God for the salvation of all who believe.
      3. The Canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, and the authoritative source and norm of our proclamation, faith and life.
      4. We believe in the Trinity—God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
      5. The “Church” is a people (not a building) created by God in Christ that is to bear witness in the World.
      6. As a congregation, we are to:
      • Worship God through regular services of worship and through lives of prayer, praise, thanksgiving, witness and service
      • Proclaim the Gospel and teach the Word
      • Challenge, equip and support members in carrying out their calling.
      • Carry out Christ’s Great Commission with a global awareness of God as Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier of all.
      • Serve in love to meet human needs
      • Nurture our own members in the Word.
      • To see our daily lives as the setting for the exercise of our calling and to use our gifts for others (both believers and non-believers)
      • Manifest the unity given to people by God by living together in love
