What We Believe
Here are some of our basic beliefs (in condensed form):
- All Power in the Church belongs to our Lord Jesus Christ. All actions are to be carried out under his rule and authority.
- We confess that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, and the Gospel is the power of God for the salvation of all who believe.
- The Canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, and the authoritative source and norm of our proclamation, faith and life.
- We believe in the Trinity—God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- The “Church” is a people (not a building) created by God in Christ that is to bear witness in the World.
- As a congregation, we are to:
- Worship God through regular services of worship and through lives of prayer, praise, thanksgiving, witness and service
- Proclaim the Gospel and teach the Word
- Challenge, equip and support members in carrying out their calling.
- Carry out Christ’s Great Commission with a global awareness of God as Creator, Redeemer and Sanctifier of all.
- Serve in love to meet human needs
- Nurture our own members in the Word.
- To see our daily lives as the setting for the exercise of our calling and to use our gifts for others (both believers and non-believers)
- Manifest the unity given to people by God by living together in love
